130 years enSoie

130 years Maison enSoie

We are celebrating! It gives us great joy and pride to reflect on 130 years of tradition, craftsmanship, creativity, love, passion, and family. Countless stories could be told about enSoie. Here are five selected facts:

1. enSoie is part of a long-standing silk tradition in Zurich. Until the 1970s, Europe’s haute couture was supplied with the finest silk fabrics directly from Zurich. In 1976, the family Meier took over a well-renowned Zurich silk trading company. In 1984 Monique Meier transformed it into the enSoie we all know today.

2. enSoie means ‘made of silk’ in French. While we have been expanding our range of products and materials over the years with ceramics, jewellery, and so much more, silk remains an important part of our assortment and brand identity to this day.

3. enSoie’s core value is sustainability, both social and environmental. Since 1984, we have established successful, long-term partnerships with small manufacturers. We guarantee environmentally friendly products, develop designs to last, use only high-quality materials, and ensure fair working conditions.

4. The dancing enSoie rabbits are more than a cute logo. They stand for change, fertility, curiosity, and creativity. Attributes that are inherent to the family business, that characterise it and drive it forward. The dancing rabbits have been accompanying the brand since 1984.

5. enSoie is a family business. In 2014, Anna and Sophie Meier took over the management of enSoie from their mother Monique. enSoie’s store, studios, and ateliers are all located under the roof of the ‘enSoie family house’ at Strehlgasse 26.
