enSoie meets: Caspar
enSoie: What is the oldest item you still wear?
Caspar: My baby-blue Moncler down jacket from the 1950s – the very first model they ever made. It’s still incredibly puffy and looks like it could have been sold a year ago. It’s crazy to think this piece is around 75 years old.
Which item do you reach for most often, and why?
Probably one of my Appenzeller belts. As I work for the brand, I own several styles and switch them depending on the outfit. At the moment, I wear the slim version in black leather with silver ornaments the most. It looks very elegant and features the classic Alpaufzug – an annual Swiss tradition.
Have your values (sustainability, politics, identity) changed the way you buy or wear clothes?
Absolutely. I buy second-hand whenever possible and favour natural materials, as well as products that are made slowly and built to last. I also buy and sell Swiss vintage and love seeing people increasingly resonate with locally produced clothing.
