enSoie meets: Emma

We meet Emma in Basel. She is wearing the Francesca blouse featuring a hand-painted Vichy check.

enSoie: What outfit from your youth still lives in your head?
Emma: I have a photo of me around 11 wearing fluorescent odd socks and a Snoopy hoodie. I love this look and would absolutely wear it now. Maybe paired with a chic black skirt this time round.

Do you think about colour a lot?
Yes, I love colour. Working in the art world, you can often look around and see everyone dressed in black, but I enjoy bringing in colour and being subtly playful.

What is the easiest situation for you to dress for and the hardest?
Dressing for an art fair is, in a way, an easy one, as I like to express my taste and style but have to be careful not to match the artworks!

Who were your early style icons?
My earliest style icon was my grandmother, known to me as Gaga. I have inherited a number of incredible brightly coloured and patterned silk shirts and dresses from her. When I’m older, I will break into her stash of kaftans.
