We met Julia and Melodie in Paris. They are wearing the Ami skirt and the classic Love rules forever tag bracelet. 

enSoie: Was there a moment you first felt “well dressed”? What were you wearing?
Melodie: I remember buying a pair of silver glitter Buffalo sneakers when I was ten years old. I felt so proud that I would wear them every day.

What outfit from your youth still lives in your head?
Melodie: I would wear an XXL Taco Bell shirt that reached my knees, with the Chihuahua that says Melodie: “Yo quiero Taco Bell”, my favourite orange baggy trousers and New Balance sneakers. I would ask my mum to braid my hair into three braids, two in the front and one in the back.

Julia: When I was a teen, I had a pareo that you could wear as a dress with shoulder straps if you wanted, and I was obsessed with it. I love the fact that one piece can be so versatile, becoming two different dresses or a skirt, for instance.

Have clothes ever helped you overcome insecurity?
Melodie: When I was a kid, I think my clothes were my only way of expressing myself, as I was very shy. They helped me grow bolder.
