enSoie meets: Masha & Max
We met Masha and Max in Paris. Masha is carrying the classic Library bag, Max is wearing our Blia stole featuring Darkest Season check.
enSoie: What outfit from your youth still lives in your head?
Max: Not an outfit, but a pair of sandals. Every summer I had to wear them, and I hated it so, so much. I still haven't gotten over it.
enSoie: What is the oldest item you still wear?
Masha: My prom dress that earlier belonged to my mother.
enSoie: Have clothes ever helped you overcome insecurity?
Max: I have this recurring dream where, for inexplicable reasons, I’m naked in the schoolyard. Coming back to a world where I wear clothes comes as a daily relief.
enSoie: Who were your early style icons?
Masha: Kurt Cobain.
enSoie: What would you like to explore next in your style?
Max: Until now, I’ve only worn clothes that people have given me or that I’ve found in my family’s wardrobes. I’ve decided to break with this. I will start buying my own clothes. Where this will take me style-wise, I don't know, but I reckon that’s part of growing up.
enSoie: What’s the “signature” object in your wardrobe?
Masha: I have a scarf by the Ukrainian designer Anton Belinsky that I got ten years ago. I wear it literally every day throughout the colder months, and if I were a cartoon character, I would be drawn wearing this scarf.
